School Day #2

A couple of weeks ago they got to decorate sugar cookies a couple of days before Halloween at my house. They had great fun and the especially liked to eat them after.

School Day #4

Four weeks ago Gracie started "school: with Grant, a friend from church. It is had been great fun to have her play and learn with someone who is her age. Today Grant joined us at our home and this is what we did:

- Free play
- We gathered in Gracie's room on the floor, which for the day was our "classroom" and we sang the ABC song a couple of times.
- We used the Leap Frog magnetic ABC's to review some letters. They each pulled a letter out of the bag, then we said
the letter and put it on the little machine and listened to the sounds. We got through about 10 letters and ended with the letter A which brought us to our next activity.
- I made a worksheet in Word with a large letter A and an apple for them to color. They colored the paper and then I gave them a foam sticker of the letter A and an alligator, which they put on their papers.
- Then they were hungry, so we had milk and popcorn.
- Free play.
Two year olds have very short attention spans and interest spans, so they play a lot in between activities.
- They glued cheerios to a piece on construction paper with a capital A and a lowercase A. When I thought of doing this I wasn't sure how well they would do, or if they could even do it. I didn't know if they had the skill to actually glue on a line. Well, they could do it and I was so pleased!

Here they are in action.
This is Gracie's finished work!
And Grant's finished work!
- They each took a turn doing a wood puzzle.
- Free play
- We counted to 10 two times. I have never been really good about counting a lot with Gracie. It would happen some days and not on others. Last night at dinner I surprised Steve when I told her to count for Steve and she said, "One...two...three...four...five...six...seven." She did awesome, I was so proud of her.
- Next we played hide and seek and the seeker had to count to 10 to did the hider (is that even a word, hider?).
- Last we jumped up and down while counting to 10 three times.

They are so silly and so much fun!!!
